This venture serves multiple purposes depending on your interest in the Algarve:
1) For those thinking about vacationing, I can share my thoughts on locations, depending upon your family and what you are looking to do. I can also scout places out for you if I am not familiar. Once you arrive, I can also meet with you to discuss the do’s and don’ts of the Algarve (tipping, roundabouts, medical care, etc.) and even provide transportation/tours if needed.
2) For those thinking about relocating, I can provide my expriences with obtaining your Visa, how to get your pets here safely, next steps in obtaining residency, suggesting places to live, etc.
3) For those who are already here or almost here, I can provide transfer services, tours, and whatever else you are in need of.

In early 2022, my wife and I realized we had a unique situation that would begin in 2023. I could retire early (25 years in education) while my wife could continue to work remotely. So, we decided to see if there was somewhere else in the world we wanted to call home. We made an extensive list of potential places with Portugal, specifically the Algarve, checking the most boxes. In the summer of 2022, our family spent a little over 2 weeks in the Algarve on a scouting mission. We fell in love. A little over 1 year later, we (myself, my wife, our twin teenage daughters, 2 dogs, and 1 cat), relocated.
Initially, we lived in Quarteira. We now live in Faro. It has been a little over a year since we relocated. We have experienced/learned/learned the hard way😅, what it takes to not only relocate from the United States but also enjoy living a Portuguese lifestyle.
As I mentioned earlier, I retired early. That along with my experiences over the last few years have combined to create “Your Algarve Buddy”. Our company consists of only my wife and myself.
